What is Purity Foundation?

Purity Foundation is a non profit organization assisting breast cancer patients and their immediate families who have lost all or part of their household income.We understands how a breast cancer diagnosis can interfere with not only the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and their family, but the financial aspect as well. Whether these individuals have recently been diagnosed, in active treatment, and in some cases warriors of this disease, patients are unable to work and experience a loss of income that will result in financial losses. Purity Foundation provides financial assistance to help meet basic living and some extracurricular expenses, decreasing stress to give breast cancer patients the opportunity to focus solely on the healing process instead of being burdened by the financial aspect.  

Who is Amber Lagway?

Mother's day, May 11, 2014, my grandmother Fa'asaveve Luafau passed away from breast cancer. When she was first diagnosed in 2011 with breast cancer I honestly didn't understand. I saw the dramatic changes in her physical appearance, the weight and hair loss, and I could tell that physically she was always tired. However, I didn't truly understand the severity of her sickness. When she was diagnosed my thought process was that she would go through treatment and then we wouldn't have to worry about it again. As I look back now I feel as if I didn't take advantage of the time I had with her, because in my mind she was going to be here forever. She got better, she was cured, a cancer warrior.

My gramma was everything to me, the perfect example of a wife, mother, and grandmother. She wasn't very vocal, but she taught by example. She showed me how to love unconditionally, that most things don't need a reaction, and most importantly to love Jesus Christ.
