ABOUT US

Purity Foundation was founded on April 19, 2016 in honor of Fa’asaveve Luafau. During the developmental stages of Purity Foundation, research suggested that there were many organizations that had been created to raise funds to help with research, and a limited number of organizations aimed to directly assist the people who were being immediately impacted.

Seeing the way that breast cancer financially impacted her family, Amber Lagway set out to help change that dynamic. Purity began as a saving grace. After the loss of her grandmother on Mother’s Day 2014, life as she knew it had changed drastically. Instead of a joyful day waking up celebrating all of the Mother’s in her family, they had lost one of the most influential women in their lives.

As of June 11, 2020 Amber’s family endured another loss due to breast cancer. Her Aunt, Eseta Luafau, whose legacy will live on through her 5 children — Peresauma, Tiki, Jordan, Alizje, Jeremiah, & her grandchildren Rio, and Koda.

The events and programs curated by Purity Foundation stem from experiences that Amber and her family had experienced during her grandmother and aunt’s cancer diagnosises, treatments, and transitions.
